Thy Nguyen, Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern
Thy Nguyen graduated with a BS as a double major in psychology and rehabilitation from Springfield College in MA, and received her Master's Degree in social work (MSW), from the top social work program, University of Michigan. She interned as part of the University of Michigan's hospital systems in the department of physical medicine and model rehabilitation facility as a medical social worker working with spinal cord injured patients, athletes, traumatic brain injured, and those with rare disabling conditions.
Thy also has experience working with depressed clients in a primary healthcare clinic receiving referrals from internal medicine as well as providing outpatient group work. Thy obtained certifications for social work in schools, gerontology, and has had extensive work experience with underprivileged children. Thy has a dynamic work history that offers a wide range of wisdom, knowledge, and compassion for her clients and specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy for depression, life coaching, child work, hypnosis, visualization/mental rehearsal, play and recreational therapy.
Thy is also an honorary congressional recipient of the ”Points of Light" Award for her volunteer efforts within the community & overseas such as working with children with cystic fibrosis, cleft palates, and paralympic adult athletes.
