Kristin Khoury is a dedicated Registered Clinical Mental Health Counselor Intern and Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern. She earned her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College. Kristin is passionate about delivering empathetic and professional care, emphasizing cultural sensitivity and realism. She believes that healing is a collaborative journey that flourishes with authentic, non-judgmental support.
Kristin employs a diverse range of therapeutic approaches to assist clients of all ages, from toddlers and young children to adolescents and adults. Her area of expertise includes co-parenting, addressing impulsive and defiant behaviors, crisis intervention, disordered eating, LGBTQ+ identity, trauma/PTSD, life transitions, and therapy for families and couples. With a particular focus on toddlers and young children, she is dedicated to guiding clients through significant life adjustments.
At Milestone Counseling, Kristin has integrated play therapy techniques, such as sand tray therapy, mindfulness exercises, and expressive art activities, customizing her methods to meet each client's individual needs. She pays close attention to multicultural differences and traditions, effectively combining family systems approaches with children's play therapy to create impactful interventions. Her goal is to foster positive outcomes in relational dynamics, behavioral changes, communication skills, and emotional regulation.
For the past eight years, Kristin has worked in the mental health field, where she has had the opportunity to work with a wide range of diverse populations. Her focus has been on empowering individuals to reach their full potential while providing the necessary support. Kristin is passionate about helping her clients build resilience, guiding them to uncover their strengths while fostering a nurturing and safe environment that promotes personal growth and improvement. Additionally, she holds certifications in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Gottman I & II, which further enrich her therapeutic toolkit.
