Flor was born and raised in Cuba and moved to the United States as a teenager with her parents and brother. Embracing the challenges of adapting to a new culture and learning English as a second language, she developed resilience, perseverance, and a deep passion for helping others. Flor began her career in healthcare by attending Cincinnati State College, where she became a certified Medical Biller and Coder. Over the course of 15 years, she held various leadership positions in healthcare management. After dedicating time to raising her two daughters and supporting her husband in developing his medical practice, Flor returned to school to pursue her true calling—mental health counseling. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida International University and later graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Hodges University.

Currently, Flor is a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern in Florida, having completed over half of the hours required for full licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). She is also working toward becoming a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). As a bilingual therapist, Flor works with both English and Spanish-speaking clients, providing culturally sensitive care to diverse populations. Utilizing a Person-Centered approach, Flor has experience working with clients facing challenges such as Anxiety, Depression, Grief, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), and other mental health conditions. She is dedicated to helping clients develop effective coping strategies and enhance emotional resilience.

Flor believes that the core of effective therapy is the strong alliance between the client and counselor. She is committed to creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where individuals feel heard, understood, and respected. Flor also holds the belief that everyone is striving to fulfill their need to be loved and accepted for who they are, and that each person is doing the best they can with the resources available to them. Beyond her professional work, Flor's passion for mental health extends to her personal life, as she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters, all of whom share a dedication to the healthcare field.
